Taylan Aygün (b. 1989) is a self-taught Turkish designer based between Paris and London. His practice draws inspiration from the sinuous language of Art Nouveau and the vernacular craftsmanship of Anatolia.

Taylan imagines a future in which human intervention has altered the natural world, mutating flora into familiar yet unrecognisable shapes. From this premise emerges a dreamlike herbarium: elastic stems, hybrid blossoms and suspended landscapes that exist in a colourful world beyond the laws of physics.

These invented botanicals operate as both fiction and archive, proposing an alternative ecology. They can be read as speculative survivors, hypothetical plants that persist beyond catastrophe, and as testimonies of resilience.

Taylan gives form to this imaginary garden through objects and surfaces, working with artisans and traditional techniques to carry his visions into the material world.

Within the strangeness of these works lies a quiet optimism: the conviction that life, however altered, will always find new ways to flourish.
