Glass Works
Extending the botanical mutations that run through the artist’s practice, this ongoing series of glass sculptures imagines unfamiliar flowers blossoming into a new existence. In contrast to the flexibility and resilience of the kilim, made to withstand the movements of nomadic life, glass introduces a new sense of fragility. Transformed by the torch, this medium mirrors each flower’s own process of mutation.

Recalling old botanical teaching models, these glass sculptures appear as frozen specimens of an imagined natural world. Their delicate and vulnerable presence becomes a reminder of the inevitable care required in our relationship with nature. Familiar, colourful, yet unrecognizable, each flower continues to blossom, suggesting growth with a quiet sense of optimism.
